Hi!! The downloadable file mJoysetup.exe from vjoystick.sourceforge.net/site/index.php/download-a-install/download for Windows 10 seems to be infected with malware. This is a recent development, as I installed it in the end of December with a fresh download and it was just fine. Luckily I have a clean copy which I was able to give to the person needing the download, but you should probably clean out the artifacts with fresh builds. Thanks!

Malwarebytes is also classifying it as malware, but gave it a generic designation because their heuristics AI flagged it rather than a specific virus definition.

Yes, this file is not my file (Should be vJoySetup.exe). I will see to it but meanwhile you can go the the SourceForge repository and download the (what seems to be) the correct file.

Ummm, how do I remove the file? I already removed the setup file, which I never ran, but it still shows up as an active threat in Windows Defender even after removing it via Windows Defender

This is not a false alarm. The SourceForge database has been probably compromised. Please go to the repository as indicated by @alper and get yourself a clean copy.
