hi Shaul I know there are other programs in the use of vjoy, so only the windows's prompt"You must restart your computer to apply these changes". But why not let vjoy like other hardware devices, realize the hotplug? This should not be this prompt?

Not sure I understand. In most cases you don't need to restart.

Hi, I think I have a similar/the same problem as the OP.
Previously (and as stated in your reply) when configuring, adding or removing vJoy devices, the device would be disabled and re-enabled automatically - I didn't need to restart my computer to apply the changes.
Recently, dialog boxes began to appear whenever I made a change in vJoyConf. The box appears after a short delay while the top of the vJoyConf window says 'Not Responding' (this didn't used to happen - I just used to hear the device unplugged/plugged in sounds and the change was applied).
"You must restart your computer to apply these changes Before restarting, save any open files and close all programs. Restart Now / Restart Later"
And, the changes I made in vJoyConf were not applied until I restarted my computer. I managed to get around this by pressing (eg:) 'Add Device' several times before it said Not Responding. The dialog box still opened, but the sounds played, and the changes were applied.
Sometimes, the dialog box doesn't open, but no changes are applied.
vJoyConf says v2.1.8, and Device Manager says Driver Version: 9.14.50.767 Disabling and re-enabling vJoy from Device Manager doesn't work as an alternative to restarting the computer.
Hope this enough information. Thanks!

Hi, My suggestion is that you have a running software that uses vJoy and locks it when you want to configure it. If the driver is used by a 3rd party app (a feeder running in background, or a game) while you want to configure vJoy, then it will ask for a reboot. So, if you do not want to reboot, please make sure you have no running process that locks vJoy before you run vJoy's configuration tool.
