Hi, Thanks to Justin Shafer, and Shaul goodwill, a new release of vJoy was built that fix a number of issues that mainly focused Force Feedback. The main changes with vJoy 2.1.9 are : - 8 more analog axes have been added, increasing to a total of 16 analog axes. These axes were added to allow to use more than 8 axes on some software that could not merge multiple input devices. Now a single device can report up to 16 axes which should be enough for most simulators. - simultaneous FFB effects can now be created: provided the feeder knows how to handle this, vJoy driver will transfer all effects parameters including the effect block index that is managed internally by the driver when a Create New Effect report is received. - the installer (inf file) does not install registry keys for FFB anymore (they are provided in separate .reg files). With recent versions of Windows 10, there is no need to add these keys as the system automatically detects FFB based on the HID descriptor, thus removing the need to register the registry keys. This fixes a bug that was reporting vJoy as a FFB device even if you disabled it in the Configure utility. - update SDK files and samples (fixes issues and added FFB for C#) Files are provided on github. Thanks for the log. It seems like in your case the installer is looking for a vJoyInit.reg file which is not part of the installer.
Do you have Win x64 or x86 ? Your log shows you have x64. Let me some time to look into the issue.

You people amaze me.

Hi, I took some time to compare your log with mine from a fresh install. The difference in the log is mainly that you tried to reinstall vJoy over a previous install, as these lines are not present in my install log: "2020-11-23 14:05:33.138 InitializeSetup() - IsUpgrade=true 2020-11-23 14:05:39.719 PrepareToInstall()"
And it seems like you have a running software that locked this particular DLL from vJoy when uninstalling the previous version (zombie process?): "2020-11-23 14:05:40.487 Dest filename: C:\Program Files\vJoy\x64\LBIndustrialCtrls.dll 2020-11-23 14:05:40.487 Time stamp of our file: 2020-06-28 03:47:14.000 2020-11-23 14:05:40.487 Dest file exists. 2020-11-23 14:05:40.487 Time stamp of existing file: 2020-06-28 03:47:14.000"
So, please: - uninstall first any previous vJoy manually (go to installed programs) - reboot - install the new version. Best

Hi njz3 Sorry for the long wait. Setup Log 2021-01-08 001.txt (15.05 KB) vJoyInstall.log (2.59 KB) Setupapi.dev.log (one Drive link) Tried what you said. and still failed. I am at a loss to where it is going wrong. I also noticed the C:\Program Files\vJoy\x64\LBIndustrialCtrls.dll was called twice. 2021-01-08 09:37:38.210 Dest filename: C:\Program Files\vJoy\x64\LBIndustrialCtrls.dll 2021-01-08 09:37:38.210 Time stamp of our file: 2020-06-28 03:47:14.000 2021-01-08 09:37:38.210 Installing the file. 2021-01-08 09:37:38.211 Creating directory: C:\Program Files\vJoy\x64 2021-01-08 09:37:38.213 Successfully installed the file. and in same file 2021-01-08 09:37:38.786 Dest filename: C:\Program Files\vJoy\x64\LBIndustrialCtrls.dll 2021-01-08 09:37:38.787 Time stamp of our file: 2020-06-28 03:47:14.000 2021-01-08 09:37:38.787 Dest file exists. 2021-01-08 09:37:38.787 Time stamp of existing file: 2020-06-28 03:47:14.000 2021-01-08 09:37:38.787 Version of our file: 1.0.0.0 2021-01-08 09:37:38.819 Version of existing file: 1.0.0.0 2021-01-08 09:37:38.819 Same version. Skipping. Also as a side note, when i first installed Vjoy it was on a fresh install. the setup log was after i have tried various ways to install it lol... (as admin, from a diff drive/location) I attached a fresh setup log and my vjoyinstall log to Edit:- adding setupapi.dev.log. just incase. Hope this helps in anyway. Kittie

Hi. Just a little update. I finally got it to work. After lots of reformats and various usb configurations. I found that it dont like windows insiders on my pc (although it works on my surface pro 4 with windows insider on it) and had to use windows pro 20h1 I even tried fresh install of Windows insider and windows 20h1 upgrade to Windows insider aswell. None worked other than just windows 20h1 only.
